{Happy New Year!!}

I was talking to a few friends of mine today and there are so many of us that are setting goals for the new year. Not really resolutions because those are like a dead beat dads promises, made to be broken. So I got to thinking, what are my goals? Obviously I want to lose weight and that's at the top of my list. So most of mine are centered around that. But I also go to thinking about how I'm going to make that happen. Especially in the winter when it's so cold! I set up monthly goals this year. And here is how it's going to work.

January: Establish a workout routine. I have a tendancy of saying I want to lose weight but then sitting on my butt all day and around 5pm realizing I didn't do anything to help me even burn a single calorie. I've found a channel on hulu.com that I think I'm going to try out. If I like that, I'll stick to it. There is also this video on youtube that I have done before and I like. I have also been a pinning machine and found some good workouts that way too!

February: Count those calories. An amazing app that I found is MyFitnessPal for Android (also available for iphone). Not only does it give you the app, you can also log your calories and exercise on your PC! Which is super handy! It allows you to scan a barcode and automatically add it to your food too which I find very useful when the food I'm eating isn't in the (extremely long) list of foods.

March: No Fast Food. Although I plan on cutting back on fast food in Jan & Feb, I want to cut it out entirely for this month. No more glorious McDonalds or driving up to Hardees at 8pm when I get a craving for a Monster burger (oh yeah...I've done that). No I'll give it all up this month. Sure I might miss the fries and the delicious filet-o-fish that McDonalds offers. But we all know fast food is the root of all fat. So ya gotta just cut it out..cold turkey.

April: No Soda. This one is going to be especially tough for me. I already can't drink anything but Pepsi Max because regular pepsi gives me a headache and makes me bloated. But giving up my awesome pepsi max will probably kill me. Just sayin' lol.

Now I think I could make an entire plan for the whole year, but I think 4 months worth is plenty for a starter. I don't want to set myself up to fail right off the bat with moving too fast or looking too far in the future. So that is what I'll be doing. What are your goals for this year?

{Little Christmas Haul}

Since everyone loves to show off what they got for Christmas..I figured I'd show off mine too :).

D insists that this was my gift this year. He said that he could have easily made me keep driving the van and gotten himself a truck since it was his car that took a crap on us just a couple months after purchasing it from the neighbor (which I told him not to do in the first place cause I saw it coming a mile away). But instead he found this one for me and took my van as his work vehicle. At least until either this summer or next year when he does finally buy himself a truck. It's the newest vehicle I have ever had. Most of our cars are in the 90's (his caprice is an 88 or something like that lol). I friggin' love it!!

A 2005 Hyundai Tuscon

 To go with said awesome vehicle he got me something I've been wanting for a while but could never bring myself to buy for my van.
These have saved me so much time trying to find my car in a parking lot. Seriously.

In September I let go of my favorite comforter. It was a white down one that we'd had for years. I loved it because it was so warm, but hated it in the end because it was spewing feathers by the pound. It seriously looked like we were plucking chickens all over the house. So annoying. But I told D that I was not getting rid of it until we had found another one to replace it. I found one at walmart and fell in love with it :). We said we'd buy it later because we didn't have the cash right then. So yeah..he came home about a week later I think, and told me to go get something out of the back of the car. I found this little beauty waiting for me..
The warmest most comfortable comforter in the world. Get one. Right now. I'll wait....

And now for the only thing I even asked for this year (since I didn't need a new camera lol). A tattoo. I have been wanting another one since I got my first one when I was 20. D wrote out 'I love you' and the guy tattooed that on my wrist.

This was all from D. From his grandmother (the only other person who gives me gifts..) I got a gift card to target. With which I purchased these lovely items today.

It's just a shirt ($14), some nail polish remover, Essie polish in Fishnet Stockings, and some base coat that I've heard good things about. I still have a little left on there lol. I am a target fan.

I wanna see your Christmas haul!

{And Now The Wind Down}

I love Christmas. But I'm also glad its over. No more running around like a chicken with my head cut off to make sure I have something for all my kids and anyone else I have to buy for. No more dinners and parties dictating where I need to be. None of that. I am finally able to sit down and just breathe. Well that's not entirely true. Today (of all days) I decided I wanted to go shopping and let the kids spend the money they from D's dad. I should have known that was a mistake.

 We went to walmart first. By the look of the parking lot I thought it was going to be wall to wall craziness. Surprisingly though it wasn't. It was just a lot of people spending gift cards and using their Christmas money. I didn't see a long line out the customer service center so that was a good sign lol. We walked around for a while in the toys cause that was the only place the kids wanted to look naturally. Drama Queen was annoyed that G had won the 50$ from the grandparents house...he was obviously ecstatic about it lol. He couldn't find anything to buy though and although the little boy found a toy he wanted they all 3 chose to go to Game Stop across the parking lot and get something there. So that's what we did. But first mommy picked up a little something for herself ;).
I have been wanting to try this since I first heard itsbl0ndie on YouTube talking about it. Excited to see if I like it as much as she does.

Game Stop was a friggin' mistake all over the place though lol. Its like every friggin person in town was there. But we walked around for about 5min before little boy found Battlefield. He picked that up in a hurry. It was only $7 (was marked as $9...so thanks D for being such a game that you have an account there lol). He was excited about that. Drama Queen got 3 DS games cause they were buy 2 get 1 free. And G got Modern Warfare 3 and a headset/Mic. So as you can imagine all 3 kids were pretty happy with their purchases.

We then went to Big Lots which was pretty dead. Little boy ended up with some kind of power ranger knife and I got 2 perfumes and a new bowl for Prissy that she can't chew up :). They are all 3 on a device now that we are home and not bugging me. *Happiness* I still want to go to Target cause I got a gift card but I might wait a couple days. I know it will be crazy over there.

So what does your day after Christmas look like?

December 24, 2012

{Merry Christmas Eve!}

Merry Christmas Eve everyone! I absolutely love Christmas! This year though just doesn't seem like Christmas. When I was a kid we would spend Christmas Eve at home (If I remember right) but Christmas Day was spend hopping from my dads parents house to my moms dads house and back to my moms moms house (where us 4 kids live). It was pretty hectic. This year though my dads parents aren't having Christmas because my grandma is in the nursing home after breaking a leg (again). The only place we went was this morning to D's grandmas house. It was a good relaxed time :). D, unfortunately, has to work tomorrow. Yeah, on Christmas Day. BS right? So we let the kids open their main gifts, the ones that are from us.

So tomorrow when D gets home from work (unless the kids are awake at 5am) we're going to open what Santa brings :). Next year I swear if he has to work Christmas Day I'm gonna freak out. I hate having to wait to see the kids reactions to everything they get lol. But also, so we don't have to sit around and stare at the gifts under the tree and stockings full the kids and I are gonna go to my grandparents house.

So stay tuned for those pics ;)

What do you do on Christmas Eve??

December 20, 2012

{It's beginning to look a lot like CHRISTMAS!!}

Seriously you guys I have been waiting for it to snow since November! I love the snow! And living in IL it doesn't really feel like Christmas until it snows. So you can imagine how completely bummed I was last year when it barely got cold..let alone decided to snow. This year though everyone said that we'd get crazy snow because of how hot it was over the summer. I was starting to doubt them. Up until yesterday it was still pretty warm out. It was looking like it might be a 'green' Christmas rather than a 'white' one. *sigh* And then a good friend of mine in WI said she was getting snow...which made me jealous. But then I realized Hey! If she's getting it, maybe it'll move down here. That's when they started calling for snow! Of course all we got was rain. But then my friend further north in IL (closer to Chicago) said she was getting snow!! In fact, she said it was damn near a blizzard! I figured it'd die down before it made it's way to us though. Not the case!!

It started coming down around 230 or 3 this afternoon. I took this picture out my back door shortly after it started sticking.

Photobucket

I know it doesn't look like a lot right there, but the ground is covered now at 10pm! It's so exciting! I can't wait to get the kids out in it tomorrow.

Speaking of tomorrow...how about that doomsday? You know I had to mention it a little bit right? Everyone has an opinion about it. I of course think it's BS. Who knows though right? Someone posted on facebook about it being the 21st in New Zealand and they're still there, but D says it's not really the 21st until it's midnight in Mexico. Which doesn't make sense to me, but whatever lol. That's what he said.

So there is my post for today. I've got some more fun ones lined up! Including pictures of our Christmas ornament making and our cookie baking. So stay tuned for that!

December 19, 2012

{Omg She's Back Again!}

Yeah, I just did that lol.

Basically I just wanted to let anyone who might be reading this know that I'm back to blogger :). As much as I liked having a wordpress.org blog and it came with many a fancy feature, I've decided that it's time to close my treat site. There are just so many other online treat sites out there that it's impossible to get any recognition. Especially since I don't have the money or followers to help me get recognition. Either way, it's going down as soon as I change all my email addresses that are associated with that account. I so very stupidly decided to use my "company email" for pretty much everything because it was the one most often checked. Big mistake. Now I have to try to remember what major accounts are linked to that account and change them. It's a bitch let me tell you!

No worries for those that have been following me (but not commenting) I've got a facebook for my site now and I've imported all my wordpress posts :). You're not missing anything. Trust me :).

Well, I guess that's about it. I'm going to try to get back to blogging like I used to. I loved to sit and write about pretty much nothing on a daily basis what seems like forever ago but now I don't do it as often. I don't know why. Isn't like my life is that busy lol.

So Merry Christmas! And I'll be back asap!

December 6, 2012

{And when the snow is falling down down down...}

That's when Santa's back in town town town..that's when it's Christmas time again. La Da Lada Lada lol. Oh Backstreet Boys..you make my heart flutter :)

Anyway- so we are almost done Christmas shopping! So I thought I'd share with you what we have (so far). We're not going all out this year like we have in the past. We just can't afford it. We have too many kids. The 2 older ones are just getting money (or we might fix the teenagers ipad for her, we don't know. She should be more careful with it) so that's why I'm not listing what they're getting :).

Drama Queen
Under the tree
1. Eiffel Tower themed lap desk
2. Nintendo DS Lite
3. Jewelry stand that looks like a ballerina
4. DS purse to put her DS and games in
5. 2 pairs of jeans
6. 2 shirts (the jeans and shirts are wrapped as outfits)
7. Monster High make up kit

7. Razors (cause she's at that age lol)

12. Cupcake scented Lotion

Yeah...she's super done when it comes to stocking stuffers. I refuse to buy anything else lol.

The Big Boy (G)
Under the tree
1. Soft air gun (that looks like a pistol..he's been drooling over it for a month)
2. Holster for gun

4. Thermus
5. Metal Detector
Stocking Stuffers

2. Avengers Costume pack (Hulk & Captain America)

4. Avengers Stickers
5. Tooth Brush/Paste travel kit
6. Hulk Piggy Bank (he has been bugging me for a bank for a while now but the ones he sees are always so girly).

So yeah, the boys need way more in the stockings department. G needs a couple more gifts for under the tree too. But Bug is pretty much done for under the tree stuff. He's gonna freak when he sees that Innotab :).

What are you getting your kids? I was thinking of maybe getting them each a set of PJ's too? I don't know yet though. I like for them each to get at least 1 new outfit so they can wear it Christmas day out to my grandparents house. But I don't want them to get mainly clothes lol. That's no fun. Then again, that's what Drama Queen asked for other than the DS. What do ya'll think?

December 2, 2012

{No denying it now}

image

This here is a picture of my first tattoo. I was dating a guy at the time with a friend who did tattoos and I got one :). I don't regret him one bit (the tattoo...the guy I regret to this day lol). Soon after I got him I wanted another. But me and the guy broke up and so on and so forth. I've been planning tattoos for years. I like them to mean something and for them to be a reminder of a time in my life I don't soon want to forget. Which is true for the bunny. He helps me to remember that I'm worth more than what I thought I was at the time.

image

And here is my 2nd tattoo. This "I love you" is written by D. He thought it was dumb of me to get something like that on such a public spot but its what I wanted :). Its honestly the next best thing to a name tattoo which I will not do.

And five minutes after leaving the shop where I got this done...I wanted another one lol. I'm planning it as we speak ;).

{Ematic Tablet & An Email from Santa?!}

I know not a lot of people read my little blog here, but I thought even if I help one person avoid the BS of this tablet, it'd be worth the time spent writing this. D and I wanted to get Bug his own tablet for Christmas this year. I thought a cheaper one might be better because chances are it'll get broken eventually and who wants to be out $200? Plus, he's 5yrs old. He doesn't need something that expensive. So I got on walmart.com and ordered him the Ematic tablet. It said it was an android so I figured it would use the market and have all the great apps that he loves on my phone. Not the case. This tablet is an android but has its own app store. I was super annoyed with that at first, but then it wouldn't even let me register for the app store! It kept giving me the drop down for country but it wasn't showing anything. No matter how I held the tablet it was blank. It also had a wonky touch screen. No matter where I clicked it would take me to where I didn't click and when I tried to scroll it would zoom in. Pointless. I eventually just got tired of it and decided to take it back. It was $64.00 at walmart (that's with tax). I'm just going to get him an Innotab2 and be done with it. So if any of you are searching for a tablet for your little one, bypass this one and save yourself the headache.

Now on to more pleasant matters :)...well..leading up to more pleasant anyway. Driving home from picking up the Drama Queen and Bug yesterday from my grandparents house, the subject of Santa came up. Bug looks at me and said, "Santa's not real!" Now you can imagine my horror. Who had taken my little boys innocent belief in Santa so soon?? He's just 5. He can't have figured out that it's just a story already! Has he?? So I ask him, "Where did you hear that?" Ready to rip whoever had told him this crap a new one. He says, "Drama Queen" (only he said her name lol). I almost pulled the car over I was so mad. She denied it of course because she knew she screwed up. I made her go straight to bed that night. How could she tell her little brother something like that?! She doesn't even completely not believe in him yet, how could she try to ruin it for him?? I'm still so annoyed with it that I could spit nails. But instead I took to my facebook mommy group (hi girls!!) and vented to them. One of them gave me this site..Portable North Pole. You can made a personalized video to your child from Santa! You get to choose if the child has been naughty or nice or if they've been an equal mix of the 2 (like most kids are). You add a picture and tell a little about your child so Santa can state some facts about them. Then the site emails the video to you from Santa :). Bug was completely thrilled by it! He officially believes in Santa again and will for as long as he doesn't realize I set that video up lol. To explain why Santa had emailed him I told him I had emailed him first and told him what his sister had told him. And he wanted to prove her wrong.

Of course when Drama Queen found out about this video, she wanted me to email Santa about her and see what he had to say. So I made her a video except I put her on the naughty list. Mean? Probably. But the kid told her 5yr old brother there is no such thing as Santa. And she needs to learn not to open her big mouth. Santa knew an awful lot about her too :).

So I think all of you should go over to that site and let your little guys/girls experience an email video from Santa!

November 20, 2012

{So here it is!}

I can not believe we are almost finished Christmas shopping and we still have a month until Christmas! This never happens to us! lol We are those parents still rushing around the week before trying to find exactly what the kids want. But this year we started kinda early. D got his bonus check this week and we made a huge dent with that. Drama Queen is pretty much taken care of. No problems with that. But G & Bug, those 2 are kinda hard to shop for.

All Bug asked for was a Halo 4 (which we are getting them) and a shot gun lol. When I asked him what he wants, he literally said those 2 things and nothing more. *sigh* So we are getting all 3 of them Halo 4 (joint gift), their own wireless controllers, and then the charging dock like the one that D got for his birthday 2yrs ago. That charger has really come in handy!

We also are going to pick up Bug another shot gun *eye roll*. The kid has 20 different friggin' guns up stairs but he wants a new shot gun. I figure I'll hit Dollar General for that. No point in spend $20 on something he's gonna leave outside lol. I also ordered him a tablet so he can stop stealing my phone lol. It should be here Friday. And he's got a couple costumes and a Halo figure for under the tree.

G asked for a pellet gun that looks like a pistol or something like that. I'm no good with guns lol. D got him that and a bunch of stuff to go with it. A holster and Co2 and all that jazz. We got him that thermus that he's going to be happy with I'm sure. And we're gonna get him some other goodies that have nothing to do with a gun. We just don't know what.

Drama Queen wanted a DS so we bought her one of those even though I told her she wasn't getting any more gadgets this year. She has gotten a camera, laptop, and an MP3 player over the last few years. I think that's enough. So this will be the last gadget we buy her for a while I'm sure. She's also getting clothes, which she said she wants, and some other random stuff that I found for her along the way.

What's uneven is the stockings. Drama Queen is so easy to buy for because she likes all the girly stuff right now. So I'm in 7th Heaven buying for her. The boys are really hard to buy for though. I did manage to find a few thing for them though that I think they'll enjoy. At least I hope so. I miss the days when just a couple toys in the stocking was enough. But I kinda like having an excuse to buy them all this stuff :).

So what are your kiddos getting from Santa?

November 9, 2012

{It has begun!}

image

Yup. That's my Christmas tree right there. I put it up yesterday. Why? I couldn't tell ya lol. I got in the mood after going to Hobby Lobby and seeing all their Christmas trees. I couldnt help myself. I love Christmas but I try to wait until after Thanksgiving to put my decorations up. Anyway- I'm kinda bumbed that my tree is missing the angel my mother used on hers. Not because I didn't want to use it. But because its a plug in angel and there is no plug in on this tree :'(. So we bought a star today and I figure I will just use my angel somewhere else. Still a little odd for her to not be on my tree though. I have had her since I moved out on my own.

But enough about my sad little tree. D and I also picked up some wrapping paper minus the cartoon characters this year. We also picked up a little DS purse for the drama queen to keep her DS in (cause we bought that last week). I also found G a thermos! I've been looking for one forever. He likes to take hot stuff to school but nothing stays hot. Its annoying. So he will be happy with that :).

OK so that's what I did today. What'd you do?

November 6, 2012

{This can not be my kid...}

Oh lord. Please someone help me. Something has taken over my little boy and turned him into a fit throwing little heathen and I don't like it one little bit! What happened to the sweet little boy that just wanted to nurse? Blah. I guess that stopped about the time weened huh? My fault. Should have kept him on the boob. *sigh*

Today he didn't want to put his shoes on to run up to the school. He refused to go up to the toy room to go look for them. He then refused to put them on. Same with his socks and his coat. So I told him if he didn't stop he couldn't play xbox the rest of the day. That means no Halo 4 when daddy gets home too, not just missing out on the kids xbox and netflix. So he was pretty pissed about it.

When the kids came home he kept asking for the xbox. He wants to play with G on it so bad. It's what they do every day after school. I kept telling him no, he started throwing another fit. Throwing around clean laundry and even kicked a pillow.

So this is where my little boy ended up...

He's still pretty pissed off. But he'll get over it. He's too old for fits.

November 1, 2012

{Happy November!}

Hi everybody! (did anyone else say that in the Dr. Nick voice? lol)

I just thought id pop on and make a quick post. Nothing too exciting. D and I were talking about Christmas today! He wants to get the stocking stuffers out of the way early so we have more time and less running around trying to make it even for all 3 kids. I can't handle it when 1 has more than the others. And because I tend to over buy for the drama queen we end up doing just that. Every year. This year though I made a list of things I would like to put in their stockings and we will go off that. Smart right?

{Youtube-- Relationship Tag}

Once again, another tag from youtube lol. And I tag any and all of you reading to do it! :) I'm not an in front of the camera type of person so I'm not taping this stuff lol.

2.Who said I LOVE YOU first? He did :)

3. Who is Taller? Him again.

4. Who is smarter? He thinks he is ;)

5.Who is more sensitive and romantic? I think that would be me for both.

6.Who does the laundry? He just pushed the buttons on the drier for the first time a week ago. We've had it almost a year. That should answer your question. lol

7.Who sleeps on the right side of the bed? He sleeps on the couch because the little boy still sleeps with mommy...shut up. I know!

8. Who pays the bills? He does.

October 26, 2012

{25 things YOU don't know about me!}

There's this tag going around youtube (yes...I love youtube..) and I wanted to do it lol. It's basically just 25 random facts that you don't know about me. So here I go!

1. I have had 3 last names and only been married once. It depends on who I'm talking to, as to which last name they know me by. Family knows me by my birth name & fathers last name, they usually called me by my fathers last name though when talking to someone about me. Friends at school knew me by my fathers last name. When I turned 18 I went by my legal last name (my mothers maiden name) and that is who the people I worked with knew me as. Now I've got my husbands last name. It's confusing to keep all of us straight lol.

2. I am a nail polish addict. I look at the displays every store we go in, pretty much every time I go lol. The displays rarely change and the colors never do (at walmart) but I look anyway.

3. I am the oldest of 4 kids. I have 2 brothers & a sister.

4. I am not a vegetarian. I love meat!

5. If I could eat one thing for the rest of my life, it would be tacos. Good lord I love tacos!

6. I was born on Friday the 13th.

7. I met my husband online :). (So be careful girls! That crazy guy you met might actually be the one you spend the rest of your life with!)

8. I had no intention of naming either of my boys the names I gave them. I changed them both the day I went into the hospital.

9. I am DEATHLY afraid of a zombie Apocalypse. I have nightmares about it on a regular basis. *shudders*

10. I am a night owl. I sleep best during the day. Having kids has made this challenging.

11. My first crush was in Kindergarten and I "loved" him from then to our high school graduation. Sometimes when I see him I still get butterflies. And he probably STILL doesn't know my name lol.

12. My grandparents raised me.

13. I have a far better relationship with my dad now than I ever did as a child.

14. Pink is my favorite color (and I...I wanna wrap you rubber..10pts to whoever knows what song that is from!)

15. Christmas is my absolute favorite holiday!

16. I never make my bed. Ever. If someone is coming over I just shut the bedroom door and don't let anyone open it lol.

17. I said I didn't want kids up until the day I delivered my first born. What can I say? He grew on me ;)

18. (You probably already know this but I'm gonna tell you again) I LOVE the Backstreet Boys!! :)

19. Oddly enough I do not enjoy any of the little boy bands that have come after the Backstreet Boys. Go figure.

20. Clowns freak me out. I think it's because my grandparents used to let me watch IT when I'd spend the night with them. Creeeeepy.

21. Sometimes when I look down at my hand and see a wedding ring on it..I get a little excited :).

22. My favorite place to sleep in the whole world is in my grandparents motor home. No joke. Even though it smells a little funky.

23. Halloween is my 2nd favorite holiday. Mainly cause it's the only one husband will get excited for. *sigh*

24. My dream is to one day own a real designer bag. :)

25. I'm not pregnant. And thank the LORD.

There you go. 25 things you didn't know about me. Or maybe you did. Either way. :)

{Here I go}

I'm blogging from the bathroom! Don't judge!

Anyway- I know I haven't been blogging as much as I used to. But really there is just nothing exciting going on right now. Tue kids are in school and I'm currently looking for a job. I don't want babble on in blogs that have no point...like I'm doing right now lol.

I can share a few pics with you though from Bugs birthday party! I can't believe he is 5 already. It doesn't feel like he should be that big :-(.  Beforw you ask no he is not in school right now. I didn't feel like he was ready and he missed the deadline in terms of birthday to be screened anyway. So we are doing a little learning athone and since he's my lid I fet to make that decision. Thanks do much! But here are a couple pics.

There is that! We just did a chili and hot dog party cause it was crazy cold out that day. Which I thought was funny cause the day I brought him home from the hospital it was 90*.

We also managed to get the living room floor done. We painted this one. I think it looks awesome and as soon as we can we are gonna.paint the walls. I'm excited to finally be getting things done to the house! It only took us a year and a half lol.

I think that's about it. Gonna go now. Have I mentioned how much I love my phone lately? Cause I do. And it is that that you can thank for any typos cause its what I'm blogging on right now...in the bathroom. LOL

{Another year gone by..}

5 years ago today at 6am I delivered the most beautiful 7lb. 12oz. bundle of boobie monster I'd ever seen. I spent the rest of the day trying to first get the OK to take a damn shower (cause apparently they don't want you to be clean? I don't know) and then calling everyone under the sun to tell them he had made his arrival.

And here we are 5 years later. He is the most unbelievable little boy I know. Smart (sometimes too smart lol) and real mama's boy. I didn't know that after G it would ever be possible to love another kid as much as I love him, but I do. I could not imagine my life without my Bug :)

{A new season!}

I am completely in love with fall. I love to watch the leaves change and fall off the trees into my waiting back yard. I love the smells especially though. While I took a nap after going to a town festival and parade D took the kids outside and built a little fire to burn some random things in the yard. When I woke up and went to hug Bug he smelled of my favorite fall smell. Camp fire. Is that a weird smell to like? I suppose no weirder than gas, which I also enjoy the smell of (the kind you put in cars..not the kid that clears a room lol). I can't wait to break out my hoodie and wear my favorite pair of boots all over town. I am so excited to decorate for Halloween. It's the only holiday I can get D even a little bit involved in. Which I admit is kind of annoying, but still..I'll take what I can get.

Today we had a town festival. We all got up semi early for a Saturday and went to the parade. Which was oddly enough, about 45min. long. The last parade I went to I waited for an hour to sit for 20min. of parade. Dumb. Not the case today :)

waiting for the parade to start.

 Silly hat!

Daddy bought him a cop set from a vendor. $10 for a toy I could get for $2 lol.

His first carnival ride!!

G & D riding Scat...G's first time riding a big kid ride!

So that's what I did today. And next week I'll be going to another fair! Can't wait for that one either. So what's your favorite part of fall?

August 24, 2012

{Up all night..}

What I do at 1am:

Taken with my webcam. Don't you love it? I try to do this at least once a week but I'm doing it twice this week because I got bored. Don't judge me.

A lot has been going on here lately. Nothing super exciting. But still, stuff. The older kids (Drama Queen & G) went back to school. Kind of exciting stuff!

He looks so thrilled doesn't he? This was at orientation. I didn't get any pics of the drama queens cause she didn't have an assigned seat or anything. Anyway- that's exciting stuff. G is also riding the bus to school this year. Which I find helpful since I don't want to get up and drive him lol. Their bus stop is right up the street, I can actually stand on my front porch and watch them get on the bus. So all is good with that. I'm not concerned. Last year we had troubles with his bus driver however and I hope we don't repeat those or I'm gonna open a can of whoop ass on her! ;) Or I'll let D do it, whichever.

Also, it's getting to be that time of year. I've already seen Halloween costumes displayed in stores. It's not even September yet and they're already pushing holidays down our throats. RIDICULOUS I TELL YOU!!! But I'm excited for them too! Halloween is the only holiday that D gets in to. I'm hoping to get to decorate a little more this year and make it fun :). We didn't do pumpkins last year or anything cause we just didn't have the money *sad face*. So this year I want to make it good :). No one has said what they want to be yet though. Maybe when wal-mart has its costumes out they'll start talking more about it.

With Halloween talk soon comes Christmas talk. And it freaks me out!! Christmas is so close and we don't know what the hell we're getting any of the kids yet. *sigh* Maybe I should start asking now? Avoid the craziness in Dec. Especially with the whole "the world is ending on Dec. 22nd" thing *eye roll*. I don't know how nuts it's gonna be and I don't want to be out shopping in it. People are nuts!!

So there was my random all over the place post. We're supposed to go to some Native American shindig tomorrow. I don't know what it is, but if I can take pics, you can bet your booty there will be some posted :). Good night kids!

{Kid Mode..thank you!}

I know that I've talked a lot about apps lately, but I downloaded another one about a week ago that has been a real joy lol.

I don't know about anyone else, but Bug loves my phone. He loves to watch videos, netflix, and play games. But honestly I don't like for him to play a lot on it, not because he might break it, but because there are always so many ads on the game apps. So as he's playing things are popping up wanting him to click them and obviously he doesn't know what he's clicking on. So it was rare that he could actually go ahead and play a game without me sitting right on top of him.

Until now. I downloaded an app called Kid Mode on the android market (or google play whatever you want to call it now). The description says: "#1 App for Kids! Fun, educational games for kids 8 and under. All your child's favorite Android apps in one place. With our Child Lock feature, kids stay safely in Kid Mode!" I've heard it before though.

Let me tell you this girls, this app does what it says! You create an account and customize it with your childs picture (so they know what to click on when they enter the app) and they can play games, watch videos, listen to stories. It's awesome! Now Bug is constantly on my phone lol. I put it on the main page and he knows right where to go and does it on his own. I love it! Oh! And he can't exit the app on his own. That's one of the best parts for sure. He can get to the main page of the app, where he logs in, but it won't let him hit the home button or back until I sign him out :). It's handy.

The only thing I do not enjoy is that for more than just 1 story you have to pay for Pro. Which isn't that big of a deal because he isn't a 'story' kind of kid. But still. And I understand that if they want to keep the app running and do updates they need people to buy the pro and such. Still. Could have added a couple stories to the free one instead of just 1. But that's seriously my only complaint.

So if you're looking for a good app for your little person to use on your phone (or tablet), check this one out!

{Renovation Realities}

I hate working on the house. Hate. But I love the finished result.

This weekend D and I (mainly D cause it's "mans work" as a friend put it lol), refinished our hardwood dining room floors. I am in love with them. They make the whole house seem cleaner. I don't know how that's possible. Then again, looking back at pictures of my floor before, I can see how it would look dirty to some people.

These pictures are before, during, and 2 afters. It might look like the floors don't match, but I assure you they do and they look amazballs!

But now we have to figure out a good color to paint the walls. Originally I was thinking a green to cover up this white/blue the sellers had painted it (along with the entire upstairs..ugh). Then today while I was looking at paint samples I came across this beauty.

It's Warm Gold by Glidden. I'm pretty much in love with it right now. We'll see in a few weeks when I actually have to buy it lol. We're going to do white base boards and white crown molding. I originally wanted wainscoting but I don't think it'll look very good in this room. *sad face*

I'm excited to get this room done so that I can start on the living room and bedroom! That's a whole new post though lol.

August 1, 2012

{3rd and 5th and Pre-K..Oh My!}

I am so not ready for this to happen this year. I just can not handle the thought of my little boy going off to school. I know I'm going to have a hard time with it. But I also know it has to be done. He has to go to school. He can't stay with only me forever, that's just not how things are done. Besides, D & I don't want him to 40yrs old and still living in the basement. That's just weird and wrong on so many levels. So I'm going to suck it up, hold back my tears (at least as far as he can see), and register my little Bug for Pre School tomorrow. *tear*

And lets not even get me started on G and the Drama Queen! Wasn't it just a few days ago that I was taking a picture of them on their first day pre school?

But now G is going into the 3rd grade (after much deliberation on how we were going to help this year. Thank God for this school district) & Drama Queen is going to be in 5th grade! Do you believe that? I know I know! It's crazy.

Friday after D gets home we're going back to school shopping! My favorite kind of shopping! I have their lists all made out and stored on my phone and as soon as I can go through Drama Queens clothes, I'll see what they need clothes wise. They don't get but an outfit or 3 (depending on the sale) right now though cause they get plenty of clothes for Christmas lol.

Just a few weeks to go now! Are you and your kiddos getting ready to head back to school?

{That time of year again..}

I don't know about the rest of the world, but in this house the end of summer vacation is both a blessing and a curse. I love that my kids are out of my hair (as much as I love them lol) for a few hours a day, but I hate having to figure out new things to stick in G's lunch box. He's such a picky eater! He just recently started eating meat loaf & lettuce. I don't know where he gets his weird taste buds (yes I do) but it's not from me.

So like everything else I need ideas for I took to google. And after an hour of finding blogs with ideas that included foods he will not put in his mouth, I opened up pinterest. Of course that's where I'd find ideas! Pinterest has everything!

And find ideas is exactly what I did! I'm super excited about this one: Frozen smoothies.

I am so excited to get some of these cups and try this out! Finally something creative to send with him. Plus, it'll double as a way to keep stuff chilled.

Lets not forget about the awesome home made lunchables I found on pinterest. I love this idea! My kids love lunchables but I hate having to spend $1.50 (unless I catch a good sale!) or more on them. Especially not when they don't last very long around here. So cutting my own slices of whatever meat they want, adding some Ritz crackers, and a healthy desert is one way to save money and make sure they'll actually eat it.

I can't wait for the kids to start school so I can start using some of the awesome things I'm finding online! :)

{End of Summer Post}

I can not believe that it's already almost time to register the kids for school. Not only that but they actually start school on the 23rd of August! Really wish it would have been cooler so we could have done a little more. Or maybe gone on vacation. *sigh* Next summer I swear we are going somewhere. I don't care what the husband says.

But here are some fun things we did this summer.

The teenager and I tie dyed her bedroom curtains. They look a hot mess in the picture but they turned out really good. She also got her room painted (purple) and hung up a ton of stuff to personalize it.

Swimming at the grandparents house! Something we did several times. Good times!

We went to the Miller Park Zoo on one of the hottest days ever. But still had a great time! This is hands down our favorite zoo.

Spent some time at the splash park here in town. Love this place! On a hot day we can head on up there, get good and soaking wet, and come home for lunch. It's awesome!

And spent some quality time with my nephew Monkey :) I lovers him and he loves his aunt Kristin. Probably because I always have popsicles and I take to places like the splash park lol.

Well, that's all the pictures I've got for you unfortunately. We didn't do anything super exciting. But we had a good summer :).

{I heart social media!}

I knew there was a reason I am so obsessed with facebook and twitter. And here it is...

Last night in between trying to sleep off the migraine I was experiencing and fighting off the overwhelming urge to vomit, I checked Twitter. What else would I do?

I saw one of my favorite authors (Sarah Dessen) retweet a tweet from Molly Ringwald. "On my way to a kids film premiere with my 8 yr old and her BFF. I claim NO responsibility for her outfit. Kinda like the prom dress in PIP.." And so I tweeted back (which you can see from the pic up there). And about 2min. later my phone let me know I had a mention! I checked it and it was HER!! I couldn't believe it. I almost had a heart attack lol. The only other person who has ever mentioned me that is a "celebrity" (and I use the term as loosely as when I'm referring to Kim Kardashian as a "celebrity"), was Crystal Harris. Nothing exciting, just answering a question I had about The Girls Next Door. But Molly Ringwald is a real celebrity. And I LOVE her movies!

For those not cool enough to have seen her movies..

And the absolute favorite..

As of 2008 she is also the mother of a 15 year old who got pregnant, in Secret Life of the American Teenager.

If you haven't seen any of her movies...you need to head to netflix :). But that is my excitement for the day. Sure made me happy!

{Happy Fathers Day!!}

Although it's almost 11pm and Fathers Day is almost over, I just had to take a minute and say thank you. Not just to my dad.

But to my husband. For being the amazing father that he is to our kids. Not just because he had to, because they're his responsibility, but for taking on a child that wasn't his, and loving him like he was.

Thank you for never drawing a line between 'yours' and 'mine'. Thank you for teaching him to do things that a father is supposed to teach a son. Thank you for filling the spot that was left empty and thank you for doing it without even a second thought.
