{October is Crazy}

First things first, the movie review! :)

To tell you the truth, as much as I thought this movie was going to be so good. It wasn't. It wasn't a flop by any means, there were some really good parts. But the over all movie was just "ok". Nothing to write home about that's for sure.

We also rented Role Models last night. Also nothing to write home about. They showed the funniest parts on the previews. I hate that.

OK, on to the actual post :). October is going to be so ridiculously busy. Lets do a little run down shall we?
1st- Bugs 2yr check up *tear*
3rd- Bugs birthdays
7th- Bugs party
11th- Bark in the Park
16-18th- G and D are doing Wild Life Scary Park with Tiger Scouts
31st- Halloween

I know the list doesn't look that long, but when you're not used to doing very much, it's a ton all at once. I think the Wild Life Scary Park thing is going to be the most stressful. Probably just because D is a Halloween freak and he wants to be all scary. But I know that they're doing the early (just for little ones) part and he's not gonna be able to be scary like that with them. He'll be pissy. No doubt about it.

Bugs birthday party is at Chuck-E-Cheese this year. His very first time there. I'm pretty excited about it :). We paid a ton of money so it better be amazingly put together. No joke. We shall see I guess. I've never done a party at Chuck-E-Cheese before.

Who else is feeling the cold weather at this point? It's so cold right now that I have the space heater on. It's apparently not cold enough to kick the heater on though. Which is good I guess. Time to cover the windows with that plastic stuff. Woohoo.

{I have no life...no seriously}

You know you're lacking a life when you get excited about the new Dollar General opening in town. No joke. It has been in the making for a few months now, right up the street from our house. I'm literally excited about it. I went there for the first time tonight and bought some things I was needing junk. But dog gone it I just had to buy something. But now I realized that I have absolutely no life. I think I need a job outside the house or something. So sad. Maybe I should apply at Dollar General lol.

I went to take the drama queen to Brownies tonight and no one was at the school. OK. I thought I had the wrong time so I took her back half an hour later. The people inside told her that her Brownie troop had gone to the Police Station for a tour. Um, good of them to inform someone. D and I pretty much already decided that next year we want to get more involved so it's a lot more organized. *ugh* It was just annoying to go to drop her off and find out no one was there. Luckily I didn't just leave like I usually do. That would have been super craptastic.

On a lighter note I traded in Observe and Report tonight for the new Mathew Mcconaughey and Jennifer Garner flick; Ghosts of Girlfriends Past. I can't wait to watch and review for you tomorrow! It should be really good. I love Jennifer Garner.

So I'll blog at you later :).

{Movies I love}

We are serious movie watchers around here. When D and I first started dating we spent almost every weekend at the movies. Sometimes we would see an early movie, go on a motorcycle ride, and then go back to the theater for a late movie. Ahh the times before we had a house full of heathens angels. The movie viewing in this house has changed quite a lot also. I find myself reaching for the kid friendly movie at Blockbuster instead of the horror movie. But on to my post, Bug and I watched Beverly Hills Chihuahua last night.

Who doesn't love this movie? I mean, it has adorable dogs, cute little doggie clothes, and Jamie Lee Curtis! Woohoo! Bug loved it, sat through pretty much the whole thing, and he's only 2yrs old (not even). My favorite part of the movie though? The part at the temple where the chihuahuas tell Chloe (white chi) how awesome it is being a chihuahua. I am in love with chihuahuas...could be because I have 2 lol. Either way, if you haven't seen this movie, you should rent it in a hurry!

All I can say about this movie is see it! We rented it last night and I tell you what, I almost peed several times!

While I'm on the subject of movies and Blockbuster, have you heard about the deal they have now where you pay $22/mo. for unlimited movie/game rental. You rent a movie and when you're done watching it you just take it back up there and trade it for another movie or a game! It works for new releases as well as old. And after so many rentals you get a coupon for a free old release. We use those for older kid movies. It's great! Especially if you're a movie goer like we are. So you might want to check that out!

I can't wait to return this one and get another. Hmm..maybe I should go do that now!

{It's Survey Saturday!}

Before I start my wonderful post, I have to brag comment about my fabulous new layout! What do you guys think?? I'm really proud of it. I did all the graphics myself (even the background)! How did I come across such an amazing kit? Well, I believe I raved about her before, Ellie Lash Designs. All of her kits are so cute and right now most of her store is just $1-$2!! You better snap them up quick though because she is saying Good-Bye to blogging at the end of September. I'm so sad about it! She is so amazingly talented. And she doesn't charge out the ears for a kit. Can you tell I'm a little sad about it? Anyway- head on over and check out her store!

{Changes}

 I have been needing a change for a long time. My appearance was killing me. All I could do with my beyond shoulder length hair was pull it back into a pony tail. What girl wants to do that for an entire  year of her life? Not this one that's for sure. Plus, it just looked awful while it was down. It also took forever to dry and straighten. I've been growing it out for 2yrs (a little longer because I started when I was pregnant with Bug). Anyway- I chopped off all my hair on Tuesday. I love it! D hates it (he actually told me he hates it...tough sh-- for him I guess).

It's hot right? I'm madly in love with it! Woohoo! Finally I don't look like the swamp monster! :)

That's all I've got for today ;)

{It's pumpkin time!}

The awesome Morton Pumpkin Festival parade was today. For the first time in about 4yrs I got up and actually went. The parade started at 10:30am so I had to pick up my mom at 9am and then we (us 2, the drama queen, and Bug) went to Morton. We sat there for about 30min. before it started, which wasn't too bad except it was super hot! Who knew September could be that warm? The parade was actually longer than I'd expected it to be also. The last time I went, we sat there for an hour waiting for it to come by and then it lasted for 20min. I'm gonna bet it lasted about an hour this year. Woohoo!

Bug handled it very well also. I thought maybe he might freak a little bit (as most babies do) during loud noises and the characters. But he loved it! He even danced when the marching bands came by. It was a pleasant surprise. :)

We did have 1 problem though. These 2 old bitties elderly ladies were sitting next to us. The mother kept telling the daughter (who was obviously not all there..if you know what I mean) to run out and get the candy. Which was annoying enough because there were 4 kids with just us, plus a few next to us, but then this float was passing out ice pops. Yay! A hot day + ice pops= happy kids. But did my kids get one? No. Why? Because the wrinkled old hags elderly ladies took them from the drama queen and G. I was livid!! And instead of not saying anything, I piped up and let the 2 dusty cows know I was pissed off. Of course I didn't go right up to them; oh no, I wouldn't have wanted the 100yr old mother to have a heart attack while I was yelling at her. I simply said loud enough for even them to hear me that it was BS that they just took popsicles from kids and that they needed to think about it before doing it again. I was still pissy about it when we walked back to the car.

Anyway- I didn't get to look at the craft stuff because my mom didn't really want to, she had to get back to her boyfriend. Which ended up being crap and I wasted a ton of gas driving around looking for a friggin' park that he kept saying was in EP but then couldn't get us to. *ugh*

OK- on with what you're really here for! The pictures! Enjoy them! My kids (and nephew) are adorable..at least in my opinion (and mine is the only one that matters ;))

His very first parade, waiting for it to start.

Wow! He was so excited once it started!

He finally got up the nerve to run out and get some candy. That's exciting!

G and my mom

Drama Queen and G (she looks a little high lol)

Me and G (excuse the lack of make-up. Bug decided to draw a lovely picture with my eye liner and mascara)

Him and his hats lol.

Alrighty my dear followers, I'm out. Peace.

{Adventures in motherhood}

I was planning on just doing a wordless Wednesday today (which I'll make another post for) but with everything that happened yesterday, I thought I should go ahead and blog it.
It all started Monday night when Bugs temp shot up to 104. Dave called the ER to see if they thought we should bring him in (which I'll bitch about in a minute), while he was doing that I stuck him in a cool bath and gave him Tylenol. His temp went back down and he was OK again. So we decided not to mess with the ER and just take him to the doctor the next morning. He didn't hardly sleep at all that night. Was so sick and whiney. I got an appt. at 11am for another doctor in the practice and when my grandmother finally got to the house, we left.

When the doctor saw him and they took his temp it was back up to 103. They gave him Motrin and informed me that there was a crackle in his chest. Great. She ordered x-rays, RSV and flu tests, and electrolytes test. So I was at the hospital with him forever while they stuck stuff up his nose, drew blood, and took x-rays. I felt so bad for my little man.

In the end though he had pneumonia starting in his right lung and a bacterial infection. But the RSV and flu tests were negative (thank goddess).

Oh but that's not all that happened, oh no, my day couldn't just be shitty enough with Bug getting sick. I got a call from the school the same day (before we left for the doctor) and they said G needed to come home. OK...thanks for a reason. I go up there and they inform me they did lice checks that day...yup..you guessed it. I immediately started itching from head to toe. *ugh* Apparently a bunch of kids had it this year. Wonderful. I knew how he'd gotten it, he wears those flippin' hats outside and lets the other kids wear them too. *shudders* So we had to get shampoo from the doctor to treat his head. DM didn't have any in her head so that was a plus.

When I go to K-mart to pick up Bug and G's prescriptions they wait until I've already been there 15min. before they tell me they don't have the shampoo I need. OK, so they send me to wal-mart. I get Bugs meds and get over to wal-mart and they tell me that K-mart called asked if they had it but didn't give them the scrip. What the...! They tell me it'll be about 20min. No problem. I go back 20min. later and stand down at the pick up window. The pharmacists (I guess that's what he was) proceeds to YELL at me from across the pharmacy (which is huge at this wal-mart cause they just remodelded it) that the state does not cover this medication. First of all, I'm not ashamed of being on the medical card. Millions of people are. No one can afford health care at this point. So here I am standing there with other people and he says it's gonna be $137 for the bottle. I said, "Well i don't want it then cause I'm not paying that." Then he yells (again) from the other side of the pharmacy that the medication (says name) is not covered. Well, I don't care. Surprise surprise though he gets it to go through and gives me the shampoo.

When I got home D called wal-mart and talked to the douche bag. He tried to make excuses but he knew he was in the wrong. I am still going to e-mail wal-mart and make a complaint. There is no reason for him to do that and he knows it.

So that was the hell that I went through yesterday. How was your Tuesday?

{My poor guy}

I'm just gonna say it, I hate having a sick kid. Bug has been sick for seems like forever. He started getting the dreaded allergies at the end of August beginning of September. They are simply horrendous. He snots constantly and there is just nothing I can do to get rid of them. That's not all though kiddies, oh no. The poor kid can't just have allergies, he's got to have a massive case of a cold to go along with them. *sigh* Last night was the worst. It scared me half to death and I felt so helpless. When you're the mommy you're supposed to just make it all better. But you can't make it all better when it's something like this.

So last night while I was searching YouTube for Kenye Wests ridiculous move at the VMA's (which I will address momentarily); Bug started to whine. I turned my attention to him thinking he was about to wake up. Not the case. He was shaking like a friggin' leaf. I pulled my big down comforter up around him and made sure he was all snuggled in there, then pulled his (one of 3) care bear blankies up on top of him too. Nothing helped. I gave him some more meds, but I had to endure the horrible shaking and wimpering until it took effect. The poor kid has thrown up 3 times in the last 3 days (once tonight) and had a temp of 104.3. I know! We called the ER at OSF but they put us on hold and then turned around and couldn't tell us if we should come in or not! D finally got on google and looked it up (where would we be without google??). Apparently 102 for 2 and over is not dangerous, but over that you should take them in. By that time though the Tylenol i'd given him was taking effect and I had him in the tub rubbing him down with cool water. So his temp went back down to 103 and kept lowering. It was completely gone shortly after that. And just in case you are wondering, no, the nurse who was supposed to call us back and let us know if we should bring him in tonight, never called back. Nice right? He is acting fine as of now and climbing around, watching the Good Night show on Sprout, all that jazz. I'm going to call his doctor tomorrow and let her check him out and see what's up. Hopefully it's just a bad cold mixed with allergies. *fingers crossed*

And now on douche bag Kanye West. Did any of you see that he interrupted Taylor Swift on stage at the VMA's and basically told her Beyonce should have won. What a jackass. Seriously. What the hell gives him the right to treat someone like that? Really. I can honestly say that he is complete waste of space and should be wiped off the face of earth. This is the 3rd awards show he has made a stink at and of course, who could forget his famous Bush comment, "George Bush hates black people." *ugh* There are not enough insults in the world to cover what I think of this moron.

DM has her first Brownie sleep over this weekend. Super exciting!

While we're talking about DM. I put a carousel in her room that used to be mine when I was little. She has been instructed several times not to touch it as it's just a decoration, not a toy. She is 7yrs old. You would think she could handle that by now right? Clearly not. I went into her room this afternoon and saw it sitting on her dresser in peices. I cried. I attempted to put it back together and couldn't. Luckily D could, had he not been able to...I think I might have lost it. *sigh* So needless to say, she is very grounded right now.

{It's the little things}

Until I was a mom, little things did not excite me. Until I was a mom, someone walking across the floor or eating with a fork, did not excite me. And I can tell you right now that someone peeing in the potty did not excite me in the slightest, but yet here I am making a post about someone peeing in the potty! Of course we all know it's my Bug.  He is getting crazy big! Off and on all day long Bug says, "Potty". I put him on the toilet, sit for 10min. and get nothing. He has been going pretty good when daddy puts him on there though so I've just been having D take him when he gets home from work. But yesterday, I got to the joy of a (almost) 2yr old going pee in the potty! Yay! I got so excited I almost peed lol. I clapped and told him how big that was of him and I was so proud! Of course he hasn't done it since. *sigh* But I'm focusing on the positive. My grandmother said that since he knows what he's supposed to do on there, and that he doesn't pee during his naps, then he would probably potty train at night too. She has a couple bed pads that they put on hospital beds; so she's bringing those over tomorrow when she picks up G. I'm hoping that if we get him trained at night, then he'll train soon after during the day. It's sort of bitter sweet. Upside: No more diapers= less money we're spending; Downside: it's 1 more thing that makes him a big boy and not a baby. I'm not ready to let go. At this rate, I'm never going to stop nursing just so I can hold on to that little peice of baby :-). OK OK, so I might stop nursing by the time he's 3. That's a huge maybe though ;-).

We booked Bug's birthday at Chuck-E-Cheese. Hopefully it's a good time. He has never been there before so we're not sure how he'll react. G was scared shitless of that huge mouse lol. We shall see...and so shall you cause there will be pics.

I got a new SD card for the camera. I have to give the camera back to my sister, but I wanna make sure I get good pics of Bugs birthday. She can take it home after that. My phone takes decent pics for everything else; every day junk. :-)
I am pretty much in love with my dogs. Seriously. I just wanted to convey that lol.

{The Colony}

Tonight as I sat through Discovery Channels the Colony I had so many questions. Like for starters, why build a friggin' balloon with a camera attached to it when you could be working on getting the truck finished? But the most important question; how could they send those kids away with nothing but water? I couldn't have done it. And the guy, Mike, he is so ridiculously heartless about it. The skinny black girl (I can't remember her name I'm sorry) she started crying the minute she saw them. I could not, no matter how little I had, told those children I wouldn't feed them. I'm sorry. Yes; they are low on food. Yes; it's a matter of them eating versus a child eating. There should be no vote to this. The children should have been given some of their food. I think it's just horrible. And back to Mike, he's a jackass. Seriously. He doesn't want to give anyone anything, yet he's also dependant on other people generousity to survive. Kind of a double standard right? I find it hard to imagine that someone could be as cold as that. I really cried at that point. I was wondering if they would put a child in the experiment to see if it would soften any of them. Clearly it doesn't soften those who have no heart. I loved the last part where Amy was taking down the SOS sign to stop stragglers from stopping by there again. She said, "They're not willing to give any help but we need help ourselves." Sort of sums it all up right there doesn't it.

So what do you think? As a mother or not, could you refuse a child your food if you saw it was hungry? If you were down to your last can of beans would you feed the child before you fed yourself? Even though the child was no relation to you, a complete stranger, would you still give it your food or would you turn it away hungry?
And now on to less depressing matters, I have a toothache. Super fun. I get to go to the clinic because our ins. doesn't pay for adults to go to a regular dentist. I also have to come up with $40 to see the dentist and make my appointment in the morning. Which means, I have to wait another week or 2 before I can make said appointment because D has the van at work until 2pm. *ugh* I'll be glad when he gets that car next week..or the week after.

OK, I think I'm done for tonight. :) Goodnight blogger land :).

{Open Letters}

Dear Pastor from the blue bus church-

Please do not assume that because I politely opened my screen door to you (and your associate) standing on my front porch on a Saturday morning, that I wanted to hear your shpeal about your lovely blue bus. I understand that some parents like to pawn their children off on you, I don't. Oddly enough I like to spend time with my kids on the weekends shocking I know. And informing you that we do not attend church does not autmatically mean I need you to save me from damnation. I don't go to church as a personal choice and I don't think that 5min. of you preaching talking to me is going to change my mind after I've already made it up. More important people than you have attempted this to no avail. Also, while I've got your undivided attention I would like to point out that I do not appreciate you informing me that I will most likely go to hell if I don't "accept Jesus Christ as my personal savior". Your visit today (although entertaining to my boyfriend) was no welcome and expect a NO SOLICITING sign on my front door the next time you decide to bother spread the gospel to me.

Annoyed Non-Christian

While I'm here I might as well say that, O has a friggin' diaper rash from pooping water lately. I don't know why he is doing this whole water poo thing, but it's got to stop. I feel horrible for him. I gave him a bath in baking soda and put some cream on his butt, I'm hoping it clears up soon. Perhaps it's all the grapes he has been eating lately =/.

G spent the weekend with my grandparents this week. Since they don't have school tomorrow (Labor Day) I thought it would be a good idea. He has been so upset since my grandpa went into the hospital and had his heart surgery. I hope this helps him focus better.

I am about 80% over this disgusting/annoying head cold I have had for the last 4 days. Lovely! O got it though, Son-of-a!! Luckily he is old enough to take the Ibprofen that clears up all of the older 2's colds. Lets hope it's not just allergies...those things NEVER go away!

September 5, 2009

{Welcome to my new home}

So I'm at a new blog address. Congratulations friends and family, you have access to it ;).

There isn't really that much to report on at this point. I figured out why I couldn't comment on anyones blog. Surprise surprise, had to change some settings on firefox *sigh*. Either way, I am back to my stalking status on blogger :). Loves it!

Who loves my new layout? It took me an entire day to figure out and get it up and running. I am loving the fall feel of it. As we all know, fall is one of my favorite seasons.

So there you have it folks, my very first post on my brand new blog :).
