{Gimme that bag! or Entering a contest}

Oh ladies, ladies, ladies. I love a good give away and this one has got to be one of my favorites! I am a handbag addict but have yet to find one after giving up the diaper bag. Until now. One of my very favorite blogs Theta Mom has a give away for an amazing bag from Handbag Heaven. It's called the Trudi Timeless Tote and I would kill for it ;-).

{Who stole my ice cream?? or Leggo my McFlurry}

Have you ever had a craving for a food and just absolutely had to have it (aside from when you were pregnant)? Last night I had the worst craving for ice cream ever! So I put my shoes on and just as I'm walking out the door I hear a little voice coming from the bedroom, "mama!" it says. I sighed, took off my coat, and kicked off my shoes. I really have to say I was rather annoyed that D couldn't get up off his ass and go get him so I could just go and come back. But he couldn't. So I sit there for 10min. waiting for D to get done with "this game" and the minute I asked Bug if he wanted to sit with daddy while I went to get ice cream he started whining and I had to take him with me. *ugh* I bundle him up, put my coat and shoes back on and drive up the road to McDonalds. I got 2 double cheeseburgers, a large coke, and a small M&M McFlurry. We get home and Bug automatically removes his coat, grabs my ice cream and heads for the toy room to watch tv. WTF?  He wouldn't even share it with me! My own ice cream!! I didn't get a single bite until he was done, which left me with mostly melted ice cream. *blah* Why does my little man do this to me? And why wasn't I smart enough to order 2 McFlurries knowing that I would return home and lose mine?

He is such a huge booger.

And if you don't believe me, he just brought me his PJ pants and his diaper informing me that it as "yuck" and proceeded to dig at his butt in attempt to wipe it (there was nothing to wipe off by the way..that would have been gross). I think it's time to be more firm with the potty training.

{I don't get it..}

photo credit: e! online

If you have been reading my blog for any amount of time, you know that I am a True Blood addict. I've never been a girl who enjoys a vampire movie (with the exception of Interview with a Vampire) and never classified myself as a sci-fi lover (or even a liker to be honest). But when I discovered this show (while searching through on demand for something good to watch) I fell in love. I love the story line the characters and the hotness of the guys (who wouldn't? look at them! *drools* Bill). I think Allen Balls' portrayal of how vampires have always been made out to be like is very good. The show leaves you wanting more with every single episode. I've DVR'd both seasons at this point lol.

And then we have Twilight, I didn't read the books. But I did go ahead and rent the movie to be fair before I said I hated it lol. I sat there through the whole thing thinking, "How are these vampires..vampires?" Through out history vampires have always been night time monsters. Only leaving their coffins at dusk to terrorize the humans and feed off of them.

Edward Cullen and his "family" don't burst into flames in the sunlight, they sparkle. Which confused me completely but figured perhaps it was just something different. Then I realized, "they don't have fangs either!" How the hell are they vampires without fangs?? I don't understand this at all. Not only that, but they're vegetarians. Now, on True Blood the vampires are able to survive after the japenese have invented synthetic blood, what do the Cullens feed off of? In the whole movie, I never saw them feed (until the end when Edward saves Bella). Soo...how are they even still walking around?

Could someone please explain to me how you can be a vampire with no fangs and simply glitter in the sunlight?

Maybe I've just been spoiled True Blood. Or maybe the author of Twilight is crazy. I guess we'll never know for sure will we? If you have the answers to my questions, feel free to comment ;).

***
D has decided he doesn't want to go anywhere for Thanksgiving. So I'm hoping that we can just send the drama queen off with his grandmother and my grandmother is taking G. Maybe we can go get a little bit of shopping done? I don't know.

I do know that I'm super excited to host Christmas at our place this year though. I'm googling like crazy trying to put together our dinner though. I'm feeding at least 14 people depending on if my mothers fiance brings his small children and if my brother brings his girlfriend. My other brother won't come because of drama (whatever). I really hope I can get everything together, I've never hosted a holiday before. It might be a good tradition to start :).

Which leads me to the menu. I'm making a ham (because people are usually on turkey over load from Thanksgiving anyway) as the main dish. I'm hoping to do at least 3 sides; green bean casserole, cheese potatoes, stuffing, and maybe mac&cheese (because it's something I know the kids will eat without a second thought). I'm going to ask my mother to bring deviled eggs (because she is the best at them) and I'm going to ask my sister to bring a desert. I'm also making a desert though so we have variety, I'm thinking a cake of some kind, but I'm not sure yet.

Can you tell that I'm a total over planner? lol

{Oh happy Friday!}

I have no clue what to post about at this point. I slept until 11am. Which was a blessing because I could not keep my eyes open when I got back from taking the kids to the bus stop. I didn't even hang up my hoodie when I walked in the door, I just threw it at the closet (what? Stop looking at me like that! I'm allowed to do that too ya know! Pfft.) and started walking towards the bedroom. I think that it has something to do with the 2 Tylenol PM's I took last night. I love Tylenol PM. I always sleep so sound when I take them. I know how someone could get addicted to them. No joke. Luckily, I have 1 of the laziest 2yr olds on the planet lol. He didn't wake up until 11am either! It helps that he wakes up and wants some booby and ends up going back to sleep. Is this healthy of us? Probably not. Ask me if I really care lol.

I do have a few ideas on what to get the kids (nieces/nephews) for Christmas. We're only buying for the kids (just like last year) because the rest of the family has someone else to buy for them (spouse, signifacent other, ect.) Anyway- D's cousins little girl is about a year older than Bug so I thought I'd get her a little high chair for her babies (or something for her babies). We got her an awesome baby doll last year that cries when you walk by lol. Bug loved that thing! They have a bunch of cute things as far as high chairs and strollers at wal-mart. I was thinking maybe some Dinosoure stuff for his other cousins little boy. The last time I saw him he was still into them. I dunno though. I guess I should ask someone lol. As far as Monkey (my nephew) goes I think we're getting him  a savings bond along with B. He doesn't need any more toys and he really doesn't need clothes lol. My sister and BIL just got rid of a ton of toys Monkey never even played with. So I don't think getting more would be very helpful. I might get him something small to open at our Christmas though. I dunno.

I'm going to go at some point and get D that R.A. Salvatore book he has been wanting. As a surprise since he got me my camera (woot woot!).

I also need to bake my puppy treats and package up my secret santa stuff for my chihuahua secret santa. I hope she likes the stuff I'm sending her.

November 19, 2009

{I love my kids}

I don't usually get the kids up for school until around 7:15-20. They have to be on the bus by 7:38 but they prefer to eat breakfast at school (apparently cafeteria food is better than mommy's. Pfft.), I figure they don't need to be up that early if they're not eating breakfast at home. Well this morning I was barely awake enough to push the snooze button for the third time when I hear, "Mommy.." and open my eyes to see G standing beside the bed. At first I thought he wanted in bed with me, but when I finally focused enough to actually comprehend my surroundings, I saw that he was fully dressed (including coat and backpack). He said, "I'm ready to go." I smiled and said, "It's not even time to get up yet bud." So he said he'd make himself some breakfast. I got up with that and got him and the drama queen pop tarts (realy nutritional, I know, sue me). They sat and watched cartoons for the rest of the time. I love how he's old enough to get himself up in the morning now. There's no fighting with him, he just does it. The drama queen has been this way for some time now, usually pretty easy to wake up and quick to get dressed. I'm just really glad G has decided to cooperate in the morning as well. And to tell you the truth, I think them eating breakfast at school has a little to do with it. He doesn't have to be up as early, so he can sleep just a little bit longer, and we all know that every little bit of extra sleep you get helps you cope with the day. At least that's how I see it.

I am so ready to start Christmas shopping! I just can't believe it's only 35 days away. We don't have anything yet! Blame that on D though because we could have been buying for months but didn't. So anyway- we're going this weekend and getting the Wii with the controlers and the accessories. I have to say I'm a little apprehensive about buying it because they (the drama queen and G) aren't big into video games. We got them Leapsters last year for Christmas and they rarely play them this could be because D insists that the adapters charge the Leapster therefore they don't need batteries. Okie. They don't show much interest in the x-box, they would rather play outside. There aren't that many outside toys we can get them though because we got them bikes a few years ago which they still ride, and the neighbor kids tend to steal and break toys around here (apparently their parents never taught them about respecting other peoples property). I just hope this is a gift for the kids and not for D. Ya know? We were also planning on getting the drama queen an MP3 player, but D said we shouldn't get her that now we should just get her a radio. She wouldn't be allowed to take the MP3 player outside or anything (because of the neighbor kids) so it would be pointless. I disagree and even though I wasn't allowed to take my CD player (oh yeah, I'm old school) out of the house unless going somewhere with the family; I still had one. I think she should have one too. Right? G has no clue what he wants for Christmas. I'll probably take him to wal-mart and have him pick stuff out and go back later to buy it lol. He's so hard to shop for these days though. *Sigh* I feel as though it's only gonna get worse too. Bug is getting a work bench :). I can't wait to see him flip out over it!

This is my nephew, B. He's about 4mo. old now. I have never met him. I was on his mothers face book list long enough to snag this picture. Isn't he the cutest?? :)

November 14, 2009

{Just 1 reason I love him..}

I needed a new camera so bad. But decided it'd be super fun to smash the screen on my kodak, not fabulous. I've been taking pictures with it but just had to guess where I was aiming lol. So I'd been asking D for a new camera for Christmas. 2 days ago he calls me after work and just says, "I'm gonna send you a picture of something and I want you to say yes or no." I was a little confused but said OK. I thought maybe it was another puppy or maybe a 'ring' (dreaming right?). But it was this camera. Awesome right? I'd been telling him I wanted a cheap one I'd seen, but he picked up this one at Aarons when paying for my laptop. I am so happy with it! I haven't gotten a chance to really play around with it yet, I'm hoping to get to more this week and by next weekend take Christmas pictures with it. I did play with it that day a little bit though. Check out those pics!

G and Thumbelina (he was eating a cookie lol)

The drama queen looking super thrilled.

My Lina Beana :)

My future cop.

Aren't the pictures great? I love them! Moving on...

D and I got our first date night in months. Where did we go? What did we do? Well ladies, although I know you'd love juicy details, I gotta keep this blog G Rated and family friend ;-). So, we went to a bar where D had to play pool. It wasn't something I could do every weekend, but it was so horribly better than sitting at home..alone..with kids. So we pawned dropped the kids off with the grandparents! Thank heaven for grandparents! Anyway, we sat there for about 2hrs while he shot and I watched. It was a good time to tell you the truth. I'd never admit it to my mother, but I never really minded sitting at bars. If it weren't for the drunks, I'd have loved it back then too. After the bar we went back home...that's all you're gettin' ;-).

Do you know how much I love leaving Bug with my grandparents coming to pick him up, to walk in the door and him see me, and get all excited about seeing me. That's what happened tonight when I walked in the door to pick him up, he just kept saying, "mama! mama!" (yeah, he's calling me 'mama' now). I love it :).

OK- I'm going now.

November 11, 2009

{The Ugly Truth is...}

That I am a movie-a-holic. Sorry people. Another post about a movie!

I tell you what ladies, *sigh*, this movie is great! I was afraid that it might be one of those moves that showed all the funny parts in the previews, I was so wrong (I know crazy right?). Kartherine Heigl and Gerard Butler are too funny in this romantic comedy about a shock tv personality and an uptight control freak producer. It had several funny parts and I was laughing non-stop! If you're in the mood for a laugh (or 10) see this movie!

My ornaments came out great! As soon as I can I'm gonna post some pics of them! I'm obsessed at this point lol.

Alrighty- I better go now.

{Oh help me! I've caught it!}

photo credit: flickr

I know, Christmas is about 7wks away (holy crap 7wks!) but I just can't help but be in the spirit this year. I'm not sure what it is. Maybe it's because Bug is finally old enough to fully grasp the concept of gifts, which means playing more with the toys than with the boxes. Or maybe it's this Secret Santa I'm participating in on my chihuahua forum. Who knows the reason. I'm just so blissfully happy that it's almost that time of year! Aren't you? Aren't you all just extatic that in just a few weeks you'll be able to say "Merry Christmas" to everyone you meet?! *Sigh* I love it! I can't wait for Bug to experience all the fun stuff I got to show G and the drama queen at his age. I can't wait for him to see the Festival of Lights and be able to pay attention to the parade lol. I can't wait to then take him to Folepi's Winter Wonderland after the parade, which is 1 of my favorite parts of Christmas. I'm just so excited! Aside from all the festivities in my neighborhood, I'm also super excited about the crafty-ness of what I discovered on a DIY site.

Aren't those cute? I think they are just adorable. I'm excited to do them too. I seem to be excited about a lot of things this year. I thought the kids would enjoy doing them. It's something we can do together that would last forever. Ya know? Plus, for the past 6yrs I've been buying 1 ornament per child and that's expensive. Except for Bug because I wanted to make his and I just never did. I think I found a great way to catch him up though lol. Woohoo! I can't wait to show you all the finished product. I'm going to make a few testers tomorrow and see how they turn out. We went to get my ribbon and the varnish tonight. Yay! lol :)

While I'm on the subject of Christmas..time out...Bug is attempting to wear my bra lmao.

OK, back on track. My sister and I took Monkey (my 2yr old nephew) and Bug to the mall. They had the Santas Village set up, we let the boys ride the train :).

We also went to Build-A-Bear and my sister bought both boys a puppy..it's adorable! All the pictures I have of him with it though are blurry cause he doesn't ever stop moving lol.

November 5, 2009

{hahaha!}

 I seriously think this could have written about D. No joke it sounds just like something he would be crazy enough to pull! lol

We watched GI Joe last night, for a PG movie, it wasn't too bad. G seemed to enjoy it. I didn't really love it or anything though.

Are you all aware that Christmas is just a few weeks away?? I am so excited! This will be the first year that Bug will really know what's going on, and he's pretty much loving it so far. I've taken him to the Christmas isles at Wal-mart several times and he thinks the trees/decorations are amazing! I can't wait to see what he thinks about the tree! I really need to get on making him his ornaments. G has a Precious Moments ornament for every year (I think) and Bug doesn't even have a Baby's First yet. How sad. In my defense though, I want to make his and I need to print of the pictures for that. I'm pokey about it. They'll still be there though lol.

I'm really getting in the mood here people! Be expecting 'christmas list' posts soon! :)

{Just a bunch of blah}

photo credit:  weirdreaction.com

Another evil child has managed to crawl her way onto the small screen. This movie is horribly creepy! I was on the edge of the couch the entire time. It's about this couple that choose to adopt an older child, Esther. But the mother, Kate, quickly becomes suspicious of their new girl as odd things begin to happen around her. It's just...creepy. It's not scary. But definitely creepy. You should just rent it and tell me what you think! It's a guaranteed spooky dream inducing movie.

I bought a new bra today...Victorias Secret is the best store on earth. Don't pretend like you don't agree. There is no better feeling than buying a bra that actually fits you. And I've been wearing a nursing bra for the last 2yrs. Thank heaven D gave me money to go buy a new one today. *sigh* It's fabulous...and...my boobies shrank lol. Looves it!

I'm sort of in a funk lately. I don't know why. I feel a little bit out of whack. Maybe it's because of what I've recently learned about my dad or maybe it's just the weather mixed with the time change. I don't know. I'm hoping to pull out of it soon though, cause it's depressing to be in a funk.

OK, I think I should go back to watching The Ghost Whisperer. Who doesn't love this show??

November 1, 2009

{He has new kids..}

*Sigh* Since I started this new blog a couple months ago I've tried to keep it neutral. I didn't want to make it about venting or airing my dirty laundry as my other had been. I'm at a new point in my life. I don't have a lot of drama and I can't be happier about that. I don't enjoy drama. But yet here I am. Here we go.

I went to my great-gradmothers birthday party today and my little brother informed me of something about my dad. Now, I have never had a good relationship with my father. For most of my life I think he just tolerated our presence. I have moved past that, I have a somewhat healthy relationship with him now. Sure he had to go to rehab for that to happen but who cares how it came about right? The important thing is that I feel like I finally have a dad now, one that actually cares about me. So when my little brother told me today that my dad has a girlfriend, I was a little surprised. He always said he didn't date, that he didn't feel the need. What really got me was that he said my dad took her children trick-or-treating. O_O Excuse me?? I am 26yrs old and have never been trick-or-treating with my father. So that shocked me quite a bit. Then I asked how old they are, because he said he would never date a woman who has young kids. 10 and 11. O_O Here is where I started to get a little bit upset. Then my brother told me that my dad and his girlfriend were going to Chicago, that my dad called my brother and asked him where to take her. *Sigh* Why do I feel so...hurt..about this? I'm over the fact that he treated us like crap. He has drank and done drugs our entire lives, which lead to his behavior. But then he meets this other woman and BOOM he wants to spend time with her kids?? *Sigh* So then my brother says that not only has he done the previous things but he has slowed down on his drinking he told my brother that it's about time he slowed down. What. The. F???

Don't get it twisted, I have no problem with my parents dating other people. My mother has been with her fiance for 5yrs. I don't care. It's not about that. It's about the fact that he's my dad but he never did anything like that with us. I dunno. Perhaps I'm over thinking it. It just sort of hurt my feelings, that's all.

Do you think I'm crazy?
