{25 Days of Blogmas: A Christmas Blogging Challenge}

Hey Y'all! I went searching for a blogging challenge to do this year. And I found this one over at peanutbutterjennytime. I know it's from 2012 but I felt like it would work for this year too :). So that's what I'll be doing this year up until Christmas, of course I'll most likely blog my random entries too. But this is something I can do to keep myself blogging through December! When nothing super exciting is happening. Blah.

So if you have a blog, I challenge YOU to do this Christmas blogging challenge too! :)

Update: Since her website appears to be down right now, I'll post the graphic she made for the challenge.

{1 Devastating Day in November}

Today started out like any other Sunday. I woke up around 7am and said eff that I'm going to take advantage of all 3 kids being gone and sleep in. And that's what I did. I woke up again at 1030. I got up and got in the tub.
As I was sitting in the tub watching some beauty videos on YouTube when the weather alert went off and said (in a nut shell) "get your ass up and take cover". Now I think we all need to remember its IL and I am used to thunder storms and weird weather and even tornado watches/warnings. None of this is new or scary for me. So I took my time. Then the sirens went off. The sirens don't go off for non reason so I got out of the tub and slipped into some sweats and my hoodie and walked out the front door to see what was going on. I looked to my right and was confused to see blue skies. To my left was the reason for the siren. The sky was dark and the clouds were huge, and scary looking.

I am terrified of tornadoes. I don't know why, I have never been affected by one. I guess its because I can't be sure when one is going to pop up and suck me out of my house. They come on so fast most of the time.
D was across the street taking video of this whole thing with his phone. *sigh* So we along with the neighbors to our left and across the street watching the sky and waiting for the funnel cloud that we were watching form to touch down. And it did. A few blocks up.
Not only did it rip off the roof of an apartment building, rip out a 200yr old tree and lay it across a road, and up root another tree and lay it across another road, but it also did tons of little damage to fences etc. We thought that was crazy.

And then I finally got a hold of my grandmother she told me the town about 30min from me, was all but leveled. Yeah. For pics of that devisation click here.
I am just completely wrapped up in the news right now. And it is awful to watch. And its scary to think that so many people went to church this morning and came home to their house gone. Its also scary to think that the whole thing missed us by 3 blocks.
The surrounding towns are pretty much all without power also and of course parts of our town. Its just crazy.
If you live in central IL were you affected by the storm?

{Sister Shopping Day!!}

I went shopping today with my sister! It was so much fun and so something I needed so bad! We went to Bloomington to Eastland Mall because who wants to deal with Peoria these days? And of course we ended up lost and called our brother. He didn't know where the hell we were (his words lol) and told her to Google it. And we did. And we found it lol.

Our first stop was Ulta where I bought 2 nail polishes of course. I have been looking for a Christmas red for a long time and I think I might have found it in Red My Fortune Cookie by O.P.I. we shall see though. I also picked up Sweet Heart by O.P.I. I've been wanting it for while and since my other 2 colors like it went gloopy on me, I thought I might as well try it. Especially since they were 2 for $14! Yup. Awesome deal right?

After that we made a b-line for Gloria Jeans. Where I bought a cookies and cream chiller that was too much sugar and made me sick :( boooooo!

Then we went to Victoria's Secret and they didn't have my size in bras on sale so we left.

I did buy my first wallflower plug ins at Bath & Bodyworks though! They smelled so good and I already plugged the vanilla one in. I might have to go get a couple more plugs and just get a different scent for each room lol.

Then it was off to a cellphone case kiosk where I found a cute new phone case :)

We went to a few more random places and to Hobby Lobby where she bought 2 new stockings and I bought the drama queen an ornament. Then we came home. It was a damn good day :)

{Tag Tuesday: 32 Random Questions}

1.) Do you sleep with your closet doors open or closed?
Um I think they're usually open.

Not unless they're actual shampoo. I've found most of them are crap. So they can keep those I don't even use them while I'm there.

3.) Do you sleep with your sheets tucked in or out?
Out.

4.) Have you ever stolen a street sign?
Uh. No. Who does that??

{Dont Let Your Daughter Leave the House Like That!!}

Maybe I'm just old fashioned. Maybe it has to do with me being raised by my grandparents. But I feel like the way women (and girls) dress these days is just appalling. I can't be the only woman who feels that way right?
When did it become common for girls to wear more make up than clothes? When did it become seen as sexy to dress like you should be out standing on a corner?
Maybe its the country girl in me. I have always been a T-shirt and jeans kind of girl. I will opt for a hoodie and a nice pair of jeans any day of the weak. The last time I got dressed up (meaning more than clean jeans and make up) was my wedding lol. Don't get me wrong I'm all for a woman wearing what she feels comfortable in but come on women/girls, you can not be comfortable in shorts that could double as underwear and shirts so small they're damn near bra status.
And the more I see this, especially in preteens and teenagers, I think "where is that girls mother??" Where is she looking when she should be looking at what her daughter is wearing out of the house? Her phone? Her iPad? What? Cause she damn sure isn't looking at her 15yr old running around looking like something you would pick up outside a strip club in a dodgy neighborhood. Where is her father too cause he isn't blameless in this. I know more than once D has told his teenage daughter to change her clothes and that she isn't leaving in what she's wearing. And if memory serves, she went out of the house in pajamas because all the clothes she brought with her were skanky. Sorry. We don't condone that type of undress.
Just before it started getting cool out D told me he made the drama queen go change her clothes before school because she had pulled her shorts up far too high (knowing that I would never buy them that short). And I threw away a perfectly good cami because she wore it without a shirt over it to school. She got this past D by wearing a jacket and he didn't know it was so skimpy under. I will have no daughter of mine running around looking like a lifetime movie waiting to happen.  Sorry.
I'm not even going to try to blame this on the Mileys and Rihannas. Because they aren't the one buying the slutty clothes for your daughter to wear and they aren't responsible for making sure she doesn't look like a pro walking out the door. Its our job as parents. And as soon as parents start acting like parents again then our daughters will learn self respect and how to dress. Its really that simple.

{Happy Halloween!!}

I hope everyone had a great Halloween and got tons of candy! The kids and I ventured to my grandparents house to trick or treat with my sister and nephew. It was a good time until the rain came.

Earlier in the day I went to Little Boys school for his Halloween parade and classroom party. It was so fun! I loved being able to see him interact with his friends and see how his teacher is with them. I just love her. I wish she could just follow him through out his years at that school. *Sigh*

I got some pretty good pictures too! For more pictures that aren't here (cause there are morelol) check out my fFacebook!
