{So Glad to be home!}

We got home on Sunday, but I'm still so glad to be able to walk around my house in my pajamas all day that I may never leave again. No joke.

The trip started off pretty good as far as road trips go. The Drama Queen and G sat in the back and watched movies (thank heaven for a portable DVD player) and Bug slept. It was peaceful with no "Are we there yet"'s or "He's touching me"'s. It was a pleasant hour and a half.

When we pulled up to the hotel everyone got pretty excited. We had been told that this place was huge and that there was a ton of stuff for kids to do. So we headed up to our room, which left a lot to be desired! There were 2 full size beds (supposed to be queens), a tv, and a bathroom (along with a table and a closet). It was just...tiny. The rooms at the hotel I cleaned were so much bigger, especially in rooms with more than 1 bed. There was also a fridge in every room, not in this room though. We could have used a fridge for sure.
But it was clean, which is more than a lot of hotels have going for it.

Now, we were informed before we set out on this trip we were told that the hotel would have a bunch of stuff for kids to do and it was just awesome and there was more to do than just gamble. *Sigh* So wrong! There was a pool but other than that, there was nothing to do for the kids at all. So guess what the kids spent a ton of time doing?

On Saturday D and I decided to take Bug and explore Bettendorf. We went 10mi. in both directions, we found nothing but houses, bars, and businesses. We were pretty annoyed so we headed back to the hotel. Upon arriving we asked a woman who works at the hotel where we could go that's kid friendly. She informed us that there was a childrens museum and the Putnam museum. We went down to the pool and asked the kids if they wanted to go. The only one who said yes was G. So we took him and Bug. It was freakin' awesome! So awesome that I can't even post all the pictures I took! So here they are in my facebook album :)
The childrens museum & Putnam museum...pretty cool huh? Both kids had a ball at the childrens museum and G absolutely loved the Putnam museum! It was a great day!

Sunday we came home, and I was so friggin' happy to be in my own house again! :)

{Happy Valentines Day!}

I have been shopping so much lately. As much as I absolutely love to spend D's money (hehe) I have about had it with the mall. I've been there about 6 times in the last 2 weeks. Crazy right? I haven't been there more than 2 times in the last 2yrs before this. I've also gone to Gordmans, I love that store! I went on Friday with my mother, sister, and her SIL. Then I went back on Saturday because I saw a 13pc glass cookware set for $20! I also ended up getting a swim suit. I look like a friggin' polka dot whale but damn it I got 1 and that's all D said I needed to do. Anyway- on to other things.

Saturday I borrowed Law Abiding Citizen from my step-dad and then we watched Time Travelers Wife. Law Abiding Citizen was really, intense, within the first 5 minutes. It made me cry a little bit when those people broke into Gerard Butlers house and killed (and raped) not only his wife but his daughter..his 6yr old daughter. I can't handle movies like that. But when he started killing people (Gerard Butler), I smiled. The Time Travelers Wife was good too. It was really sad though. I enjoyed it. I really loved how it was just fate that she knew she would be with this man forever, even when she met him in his future, he didn't know. It was great.

On Sunday (Valentines Day) D and I got up around 9am and ended up going to Bob Evans for breakfast, but since it was Sunday and packed full of old people and their walkers/canes we decided Steak 'n Shake was a better idea. Boy were we wrong! As we walked in we saw a waitress leaving for a smoke break. We sat there for maybe 10min. before someone even came over to talk to us and take our drink orders, turns out it was the waitress that was outside on her smoke break. We sat there for another 10min. before she came back to take our order. We got in there before 11am and didn't get our food until almost 45min. later. Where was our waitress? Smoking. What did we do about this? The waiter that actually brought us our food, got a $20 tip, our waitress, $0. We also informed her manager. I hope she got in huge trouble. That is just effing ridiculous, she spent more time informing us that she went on break and left her tables to someone else, than she did actually waiting on our table. Ridiculous. She had no business going on break at all with that people tables waiting for the their food.

After that we went to the movies and even though I didn't want to, we sat Avatar. To my surprise, it didn't suck. I thought for sure it would be a craptastic sci-fi flick. It was actually pretty good though. I loved the love story in it :).

Oh! I got my new glasses too! I love them! I shall post pictures sometime soon. I love having contacts but I also love having glasses. It makes things a ton easier. My contacts are actually in too, I just have to go pick them up.

So I'll be able to see on our trip to Iowa this coming weekend. Later people!

{It's good to be a girl sometimes...}

Did you hear that? Wait. Listen. Hear it? That my friends is the sound of 2 adults, parents actually, letting out a joint sigh of relief to find that their long awaited (so, a couple weeks but really, that's a long time to wait for money lol) income tax check had finally been deposited onto their account. Whoops and Hollers were heard through out the house as I read D's answer to my text "So are we rich yet" on Friday at 11am. I'd waited that long to text him only because I didn't want to bother him and have him in a bad mood if it hadn't come through yet. So to receive a text seconds later that simply read "we'll def. be going shopping tonight" sent me into a fit of glee! I was so excited to have a little money in the bank! The minute D got off work he went to pay a few bills that needed to be taken care of. He paid off our Cilco bill (which they'd put us on a payment plan for), the phone bill, Direct TV, and Aarons (my laptop & camera). Our goal was basically to pay off all the little bills, and preferably not acquire any more. Then we went shopping. Ooooh how I love to shop! Friday I just bought a long brown sweater (so warm). Saturday I went shopping with my mother and step-sister in the morning, bought nothing (we'll get to that soon), but then went back to the mall after picking up my sister and she helped me pick out some cute things. Don't act like you don't wanna see them either! Check it out!

I also got the brown sweater and a pair of dark colored jeans that are in the washer right now lol. I also bought myself some white wife beaters (so D can have his back haha) and more unmentionables. :) I'm just so effing happy to have a little money to spend right now.

And, listen to this one, D wants to go to Iowa with his grandmother and all 4 kids the weekend after V-Day. His grandma got a free room up there because she frequents the casino. It's going to be a good time! I'm kind of excited about it. Someone needs to explain to men though that swimsuit shopping is not something a woman who is trying to lose weight, enjoys doing. Bastard men.

I also got this today.. I shall let you speculate as to what it is and why I got it.

{Toddlers without their siblings}

I will never again scold the drama queen and G for wanting to play without Bug for a while. He is a serious pain in the ass today. The kids hasn't pulled his out of my ass entertained himself all day. Now I know he's only 2yrs old and I'm supposed to entertain him a little, but he has always been able to go off in the toy room and play by himself for a while, since he was like a year old he has been doing this. I guess I took it for granted. Never again will I scold the Drama Queen and G for wanting to play without him sometimes. I was attempting to take pictures of the dogs (hoping to get one good enough to use as my header for my new treat site) and the entire time he was getting in the shots, putting things on the chair, and being an around pain. I got like 3 good shots of the dogs because if he wasn't up in their faces, D was. *Sigh* It drove me absolutely crazy!! I'll be glad when he's older so he wants nothing to do with me some of the time, instead of needing camp out at my feet 24 hours a day. *Ugh*

Speaking of G he was put on meds for his ADHD and has only been on them a few days. It's going to take a little while for his body to adjust to them and start working. Well, my grandmother (who takes him a lot of the weekends) called me today saying, "I don't think those pills are working do you?" I replied with I don't know. They have to have time to kick in. She wants him off of them, I know she does. Then she texts me and says, "I can deffinately tell a difference on that medicine." Um..OK I thought you couldn't? I asked how she could tell a difference and she said he was "talkative" and "spacey" lol. My kid is always talkative and spacey *haha*. So yeah. So once again I told her that it's going to take a while before we see much of an improvement, if there's even going to be one on this dosage. He might need it upped. We won't know. I e-mailed his teacher though and asked her to watch for changes too. I have every confidence that we are going to get this under control and get this kid straightened out. It kind of annoys me that she thinks she knows better than I do. I'm his mother. Deal with it. Thanks.

D brought up a good idea, since neither of our kids seem to want to listen and give us fits about everything, we should have a little competition between the 2 of them. Who can keep their room cleanest, who can do their homework without fighting us, who can get home from the bus stop without lingering (which both of them seem to do). I hope it helps. I'm so bothered by how they don't listen and how we have to fight with them ever-little-thing they do. *ugh* We shall see.

Alrighty- I better go now.

{Movie Review}

Has anyone seen this movie yet? I just watched it tonight and I loved it!! Ellen Page is by far one of the best actresses I've seen in a LONG time. I love her. But to add to it there is also Drew Barrymore and Jimmy Fallon. I love Drew Barrymore and Jimmy Fallon is hilarious. It was a good movie as far as story line, the actors are amazing, and it was too funny. Drew was the funniest though, she plays "idiot stoner" extremely well lol. If you haven't seen it, you should!

Up next is Surrogates with Bruce Willis, but you have to wait until tomorrow for that kids ;)

{ADHD, MMR, & Steak 'N Shake}

Today was so exhausting, if only because I had to get dressed before noon and leave the house. I hate that. I swear I could stay in my pajamas for the rest of my life. No joke. They call to me every single second I'm not in them. Is that weird? Well screw you, I'm a SAHM with no where to go most of the time lol.

Anyway- I took G to the doctor this morning. I really wanted to get him back on his ADHD meds and hopefully get his grades under control. She put him on a new kind and we made an appointment to come back in a month to see how he's doing. I really really hope we can get this under control. He is so all over the place and can't focus on 1 single thing for too long. It makes me crazy and I know his teacher is probably going crazy too. I don't want him to struggle in school any more than he already has been, you know? At this age he should still be enjoying school, not hating it the way he does. While at the doctor they informed me that he had not gotten his MMR (Measles, Mumps, and Rubella) shot so I went ahead and had them do that. But being the horrible cautious mommy that I am I also had them do the H1N1. Since he had already been diagnosed with it once, I didn't want to chance him getting it again and having it worse than before. So he got 2 shots, both of which he screamed at the tops of his lungs for them to stop it took like a champ. My grandpa treated him to Steak 'N Shake afterwords..I assume all is forgiven. You know what though? Even at 7yrs old, watching my buddy get those 2 shots and hearing him cry out for me (mama no less!) had me (almost) in tears. I hate it. HATE. I can't say I hate too many things but shots are one of the things I HATE.

A couple weeks ago I blogged about going to court for Child Support (which I have since deleted deciding that I didn't want to make that BS public). Well, SD and I talked the other day (text actually) and he apologized for being gone so long and that he just wants to be the man and father G needs. That is all fine and good. Lets see if he sticks to that. So far he has not made an effort to do much but text me that night. He asked for a picture of G via phone, I sent him 2. When he asked when he could see him, I told him a good time for us and he canceled on me claiming the baby (his other son) had a doctors appointment. He could have seen G had he tried. I dunno. I've still really got my guard up about this, but at the same time, I want G to know that I'm not the one that is holding his father back from him, his father is doing this himself. We shall see how this reunion goes.

On a lighter note, D rented 500 Days of Summer the other day. I couldn't get into it. I know if it was just all too predictable or if the fact that the lead female is so freakin' monotone. I just didn't like it. D said it was pretty good...he doesn't know what he's talking about though. X-Box 360 + Modern Warfare 2 have rotted his brain. See this movie at your own risk.

{F Bomb Friday}

I would like to know why pens, markers, and crayons are so exciting for 2yr olds. Seriously. I mean, sure you can make pretty pictures with them and present them to your mommy or daddy, in which case you usually get a "Oh what a pretty picture" and "I love it!". But really, what's with the excitement over them? Bug is friggin' addicted to the damn things! He has written on the Drama Queens walls (with permanent marker no less), my kitchen cabinets, the TV in the toy room, hell the kid has even drawn on my fridge! But his absolute favorite  thing to draw on? Himself. Of course right? Why wear clothes when you can draw them on yourself *ugh*. This morning however, was particularly annoying. I was sitting in the living room watching a little TV, relaxing, all that jazz, when I realized Bug was being quiet. This is rare. So rare that it caused me to jump up and see what kind of trouble he was getting himself into. I walked into the toy room to see him sitting on his little army chair (also writing on that), in his diaper, singing, and drawing himself a shirt *sigh*. What makes this annoying is that I searched high and low for pens yesterday to put them up and get them out of his reach. Where he found this nasty little lone pen is beyond me and it has since found itself in the garbage, as I believe it to be The Devils Pen. Stop laughing! At any rate, he is now clothed, still covered in pen. It's a good thing this kid is so damn cute.

 This picture was actually taken 2 days ago when I found him using my DS..with pen all over him. *Sigh*

{Nothin' but the movies}

I have really been slacking in the blog department lately. There is just absolutely nothing going on in my day to day life that is worth talking about. No drama. No messes (other than Bug writing on himself..yet again). I'm living a boring life lately kids. *blah*

We did rent a movie last night for the kiddos though. Has anyone seen "Up"? It's pretty cute. Both G and the drama queen liked it. Bug wasn't too impressed but I didn't figure he would be. It doesn't have puppets lol. It sort of made me want to cry a little bit, that rarely happens. If you haven't let your kid watch it yet, I recommend it :).

Oh! I saw The Blind Side too! Oh my gosh! This movie is SO amazing! I didn't think it would be anything but fabulous though, I love Sandra Bullock. It had the tears going a few times. You should see if you haven't already! :)

I know that most people have heard about this movie. I just saw it the other night. It was crazy. I couldn't believe how hard this girls life was. I have never experienced something so horrible. But what impressed me was how strong she is. How she was determined to make things better for her kids. It was just amazing. It was real. It was something that actually happens and isn't glamorized with some happy ending BS. I cried and laughed but mostly cried. I'm sure this movie isn't for everyone, but I had to post about it because it's just that good.

OK kids, I guess that's all I have to say right now ;). I'll post again soon.

{Just A Bunch of Crap}

I seriously have nothing to blog about, but I didn't want to leave anyone hanging lol. So I thought I'd just blabber on and on and hope that someone cares ;).

I lost my phone for 3 days over the (last) weekend. I was lost. I had no idea what to do without it. It's crazy how much you can really depend on something like that. We found it on Sunday though, behind the couch, under the curtains. Thanks Bug. But while it was lost D brought up that I probably have an upgrade coming up...we checked...I do! Apparently it comes up in March, so guess what Kristin has been busy doing? lol Yup, obsessing about phones! We all know my love for my Centro. My first smartphone. It's one of the best purchases I've ever made. So, naturally I sort of want to stick to the palm company. Their Pre does nothing for me what so ever. I don't like the sliding phones so much, it's annoying. The Pixi I enjoy a lot. It's got a 2mp camera, but no video..which I use but not a lot. I love the design, how big the window is which is the only complaint I have about the Centro. And lets not be silly, I also like the idea of having a phone called a Pixi lol. Is that dumb? Then we have the Blackberries. Everyone has them. My brother swears by them. So I found one I like, the Curve. What do you guys think? Do you have any of those 3? What do you think of them? I use it for everything. E-mail, phone, calendar, facebook/myspace/twitter, pretty much everything. So if any of those phones suck for any of those things, let me know :-).

I got the kids report cards today. Drama Queen brought all her grades up, G is still failing English and Spelling which I find odd considering he's passing Phonics. I don't really get it. I called his ped. to ask if there was some different meds we could try. He was on Focalin last year but it really did nothing for him at all. He either needs something different or stronger. Something. Something must give. If I can't get him straightened out soon, he'll be down hill for the rest of his school career. I don't want that. I know how hard it is to go through school with problems and struggling. I don't want that for him. I want him to be OK in school at least, I def. want him to get better grades. Especially now. I guess we'll see what his doctor says.

D, his dad, and his dads friends are starting up a business. I don't really get what they're going to sell. But is it weird that I don't really think it will last? I dunno, maybe it's just because our own business is not a guaranteed pay check every week. I don't want to worry about that. At CAT we're OK. We're struggling a little right now, but we're doing OK. I don't want to lose that kind of security I guess. Does that make me a bad girlfriend?
